Abstract
The application of a strategic alignment model between business units and information technology businesses has been widely discussed by practitioners and scholars for decades. This topic is considered a key success factor due to the importance of technology in the operations of businesses and organizations, regardless of their area of activity. While there are several recommended models with proven international results from various organizations, the challenge remains to determine the best model for an organization's context to enhance its competitiveness, sustainability, and ability to generate value in alignment with its business vision and strategic plan. Furthermore, it is crucial to ensure that the actions taken will yield effective results. This article aims to conduct a systematic literature mapping to identify the state of the art regarding strategic alignment models between business units and information technology businesses.
